Catania, 19th March – Orange Fiber, the Italian brand that has patented and manufactures fabrics from citrus juice by-products, selected for the third edition of the Fashion for Good-Plug and Play Accelerator Programme, a 12-week startup accelerator based in Amsterdam focused on social and environmental impact in the fashion industry.

Established through a partnership between Fashion for Good and Plug and Play – the world’s largest accelerator – the accelerator works to find, accelerate and invest in innovative technologies and business models that fast-track the transition to a sustainable and circular fashion industry.

For this third edition (Batch 3), the Fashion for Good-Plug and Play Accelerator carefully selected fifteen startups out of hundreds of applicants coming from all over the world.

Covering four continents and ten nationalities, they represent varied supply chain areas from alternative raw materials to new business models.

As part of this group, Orange Fiber starts today, the 19th of March in the Fashion for Good hub in Amsterdam an intensive programme including mentorship from the Accelerator’s partners Adidas, C&A, Galeries Lafayette, Kering, Target and Zalando.

For the next weeks, the Accelerator’s partners and mentors will drive market validation of the innovators’ technologies, to prime them for implementation at scale. In addition, the startups are screened for potential funding to support development of their businesses.

After 3 months of mentorship and preparation, the accelerator programme will culminate with the graduation day, that will take place on June 14th at the Fashion for Good hub in Amsterdam, where all the startups partaking in Batch 3 will showcase their innovations to an audience of industry leaders and investors.

The access to the Fashion for Good-Plug and Play Accelerator represents an important opportunity for growth  for Orange Fiber, confirming once more the relevance of the project and its commitment for a greener Fashion Industry.
