Official Nominator at the Earthshot Prize
In October 2020 we have been selected as Official Nominator for The Earthshot Prize, the most ambitious and prestigious global environment prize in history, founded by The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to incentivise change and help to repair our planet over the next 10 years.
In the light of our commitment to environmental action, together with other 200 nominators from all around the world we have been selected to identify the most impactful solutions to the five “Earthshot challenges”, to protect and restore nature, revive our oceans, to clean our air, build a waste-free world and fix our climate.

Over the past months, in collaboration with the other Nominators and the Global Alliance Partners, we have been searching the world – from businesses to governments, grassroots initiatives and more – for solutions to these challenges and submitting our nominations of those individuals, communities, businesses and organisations who could win The Earthshot Prize.
The complex process to identify a final set of astounding innovations able to drive the change and help to repair our planet – run by a distinguished panel of experts – has now been completed and we can’t wait to discover the names of the finalists.
The Earthshot finalists will be formally announced tomorrow at 12 pm BST, during a special event presented by Prince William.
Selected by the Earthshot Prize Council, the winning solutions will have the greatest impact on the biggest environmental challenges facing our planet and each awardee will receive £1 million to scale their solutions.

About The Earthshot Prize
The Earthshot Prize is the most ambitious and prestigious of its kind – designed to incentivise change and help to repair our planet over the next ten years. Five, one million-pound prizes will be awarded each year for the next ten years, providing at least 50 solutions to the world’s greatest environmental problems by 2030.
Taking inspiration from President John F. Kennedy’s Moonshot which united millions of people around an organising goal to put man on the moon and catalysed the development of new technology in the 1960s, The Earthshot Prize is centred around five ‘Earthshots’ – simple but ambitious goals for our planet which, if achieved by 2030, will improve life for us all, for generations to come.
The Earthshot Prize is about much more than awarding achievement – it is a decade of action to convene the environmental world with funders, businesses and individuals to maximise impact and take solutions to scale, to celebrate the people and places driving change; and to inspire people all over the world to work together to repair the planet.
The Prize aims to turn the current pessimism surrounding environmental issues into optimism, by highlighting the ability of human ingenuity to bring about change, and inspiring collective action.
