In the evocative setting of the Museo Diocesano, during Milan Design Week, Vanity Fair hosted Il Giardino delle Idee, a unique event where fashion, environmental commitment, and artistic expression came together to offer visitors a new perspective on sustainable creativity.
From April 16th to 21st 2024, Il Giardino delle Idee was a practical laboratory of innovation, where participants could interact with each of the steps of transformation process from citrus pomace to exclusive fabrics. At our exhibition space, we showcased products made with our materials and fabrics developed for every textile application, highlighting our constant commitment to environmental sustainability and technological innovation.
The space was set up with the help of TA-DAAN, with whom we selected 10 handmade items from some of the talented artisans that this innovative startup is committed to promoting and supporting. We also collaborated with Orografie, a Sicilian brand specializing in design-oriented furniture, to enrich our exhibition space with Amonì, a versatile valet stand composed of vertical and horizontal elements for hanging clothes or accessories. Additionally, to add an authentic touch to our visitors’ experience, Arance da Gustare provided us with fresh oranges from Sicily to distribute as gifts during the event.
For Il Giardino delle Idee, we involved several companies with whom we have the pleasure of collaborating, to provide guests concrete examples of how sustainability is an achievable goal through collaboration and shared values. From E. Marinella‘s ties to Micaela Spadoni‘s baskets, we selected high-quality products that feature our fabrics and are crafted by artisans. These are brands with whom we share the vision of a fashion industry that adopts a circular and conscious approach to offer customers the best products.
Among the brands:
Bav Tailor, a London-based brand with Indian roots, which in 2023 chose to use our T034 to create three pieces for the PRAVARA capsule, characterized by a minimalist and modern aesthetic. At our stand, visitors could admire the Shanti Spirit Robe, made with our yarn combined with Better Cotton Initiative cotton.
The historic Neapolitan tailoring brand, E. Marinella, with its capsule collection consisting of ties, pocket squares, and scarves. These items were made using our T005, a precious blend of Orange Fiber yarn and silk, and printed with iconic patterns, paying homage to the Italian artisanal tradition and innovation in the textile sector.
Candiani Denim, present with an item from the Coreva Design capsule and with the B2B denim sample collection made with TENCEL™ Limited Edition x Orange Fiber. The Coreva Design by Quid capsule was created using COREVA™, the revolutionary technology patented by Candiani Denim to produce the first biodegradable and compostable stretch denim.
Finally, with Micaela Spadoni, we presented the first exclusive collection of handmade baskets in Sicily enriched with an internal pouch made of Orange Fiber fabric. The brand reinterprets the Sicilian “coffa” in a contemporary way, keeping alive the artisanal roots of handmade bag production.
During the event, we presented our fabric sample collection, made possible by our production partners, the true pillars of our entirely European supply chain. Starting from our yarn, produced in Italy by Pozzi Electa and composed of 100% exclusive TENCEL™ Limited Edition x Orange Fiber containing cellulose from citrus and certified wood.
Tessitura Serica Taborelli has been our partner since 2014 and has contributed to the development of a collection of fine fabrics, including satin, jacquard, grosgrain, canvas, and twill, made from 100% Orange Fiber yarn or precious blends.
Tessitura Attilio Imperiali has created luminous and elegant fabrics, characterized by a timeless style. Thanks to their experience in silk processing, we have been able to offer our customers jacquard and satin crepe fabrics enriched with our Orange Fiber in blends with certified silk or viscose.
Tessuti di Sondrio has created a continuous collection designed for Ready to Wear, particularly shirts and trousers, skillfully blending our Orange Fiber with cotton and linen.
CAMAC has developed high-quality jersey fabrics, both in 100% Orange Fiber yarn and by combining our Orange Fiber yarn with Better Cotton Initiative cotton.
Pyratex has developed the PYRATEX® Citrea line, offering innovative and sustainable fabrics such as 100% interlock with our Orange Fiber yarn and ribbed jersey composed of 98% TENCEL™ Limited Edition x Orange Fiber and 2% elastane.
Rada, a textile company that combines stylistic research, material innovation, and Made in Italy production, has incorporated Orange Fiber yarn into a research project since 2023 to create fabrics for interior design. The first collection made with Orange Fiber and certified cotton stands out for its contemporary style and functionality.
Each collaboration reflects our commitment to a textile supply chain oriented towards ethics and environmental respect, thus contributing to shaping a more responsible textile future.
