Orange Fiber T023 twill cotton Tessuti di Sondrio

Tessuti di Sondrio and Orange Fiber: the partnership goes strong

Our partnership with Tessuti di Sondrio began with the first fabrics introduced in the Spring/Summer 2023 collection. Since then, the Tessuti di Sondrio team has been committed to interpreting our yarns into new fabrics for each season – up to the latest Spring/Summer 2025 collection presented at Milano Unica. Proposals made with Orange Fiber yarn are part of their ongoing Hearth for Earth collection, which encompasses items developed from sustainable and innovative materials and processes.

The Hearth for Earth collection

Included in the collection Heart for Earth, the first fabrics made in collaboration with Tessuti di Sondrio were released at Milano Unica fair in February 2022 for the Spring/Summer collection 2023.

Heart for Earth is a Tessuti di Sondrio collection of fabrics from sustainable and innovative materials and processes and designed to offer exceptional quality solutions to environmentally conscious customers. The collection consists of several projects with a specific focus, such as linen from Linificio e Canapificio Nazionale for ‘1873, The Ould Linen‘, Italian alpine linen for ‘Ciuta‘ and ‘Herbarium Tincturae‘ for mineral and natural dyes.

As for Orange Fiber, the first textiles were a twill and a canvas presented in both ‘ready-to-dye’ and dyed with mineral pigments – blended with sustainable cotton and designed mostly for casual and menswear fashion collection.

T023 is the Orange Fiber’s name for the soft, versatile, durable twill. It is characterised by a pearly reflection due to the fabric’s diagonal structure and is perfect for manufacturing casual trousers as well as dresses and shirts. T024 is the name of the canvas, a drooping light to medium-weight fabric, suitable for shirts and dresses.

Sustainable, casualwear and Made in Italy textile collections

In February 2023, Tessuti di Sondrio presented six new fabrics developed with our Orange Fiber yarn to enrich the Hearth for Earth collection for S/S 2024: two of them are cotton blended, four of them are linen blended fabrics, aimed at creating summer outerwear, jackets and trousers mainly for men.

Compact and stiff fabric hand for the twill

T060 and T061 are the twill made of Orange Fiber yarn blended with cotton. Both textiles are characterised by a more compact and stiff fabric hand, since they have higher grammages per running metre than the previous textile collection. Their weight is about 400 GSM compared to 210 GSM of the two fabrics of the previous collection.

Comfort and linen

Orange Fiber T062, T063, T064 e T065 are the names of twill and canvas blended with linen that Tessuti di Sondrio developed for the first time in this S/S collection. These textiles combine the properties of our yarn with linen: their botanical origin, fresh touch and comfort make them perfect for summer trousers, shirts and also casual jackets.

Textiles with a warmer and textured hand

Later in July 2023, Tessuti di Sondrio introduced five new textiles for its Fall/Winter 2024/25 collection, featuring 400 GSM refined twill and woven fabrics that blend our yarn with organic cotton. Two textiles in particular, named T074 and T076, have a texture with a strong reference to nature, due to their warmer, textured hand.

“We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Tessuti di Sondrio” – commented our CEO, Enrica Arena. “All the collections combine the unicity of our Orange Fiber yarn – developed by our partner Pozzi Electa using our Tencel™Limited Edition x Orange Fiber lyocell – with the know-how and expertise of Tessuti di Sondrio”.

New developments with Tessuti di Sondrio

The latest new developments are five in total and are created in blends with sustainable and extremely high-quality cotton, with an average weight of 400 g/m. The codes range from T 072 to T 076, twill or fancy, with a composition of over 60% cotton and over 30% Orange Fiber yarn.
