Orange Fiber at “To the Rescue!” gala in New York
Charity auction for a cruelty free and animal free future of fashion.
New York – November 11th, 2022
We are pleased to announce that we were invited to attend the gala To The Rescue! organized by The Humane Society at Cipriani, New York City.
The gala was organized to celebrate and congratulate the designers, companies and innovators who have cleared fur from their racks and chosen animal friendly options instead and supported the work of the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Society International. During the gala were raised over $2 million to benefit the organizations’ work, including animal rescue efforts and fur-free campaigns.
Award-winning radio and television talk show host, executive producer and author Andy Cohen served as host of the star-studded affair, which brought together hundreds of celebrities, supporters and fashion executives.
Throughout the evening Materials Innovation Initiative showcased pioneering fabrics and textiles and we, as finalist of their Microfiber Innovation Challenge last year, were invited to present our products.
We are above thankful to Material Innovation Initiative for this opportunity.
As we share the Humane Society and Material Innovation vision that all sustainability plans need to consider all of the planet’s species, and all animals are individuals with the right to live happy lives in their natural habitat, we also donated 10 scarves – produced in partnership with Tencel Luxe and dyed using Philla Color ‘s sustainable cold dyeing process – to be auctioned during the gala and the proceedings donated to Humane Society charity.

The Microfiber Innovation Challenge: launched in January 2021 run by Conservation X Labs and funded by the Flotilla Foundation and The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations, to find revolutionary solutions to reduce the environmental impact of textile industries, by changing how we make fashion.
